Dr. Jean-Marie Cartier, DACM, MATCM, L.Ac, owner of Earthroot Acupuncture, has been practicing acupuncture for 15 years. She is a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Michigan and California, and is nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM). She received her Doctorate in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health and Science (San Diego) in 2020, graduating with highest honors. Dr. Jean also holds a four-year Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture from Yo San University (Los Angeles), where she graduated with highest honors in 2013. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from Florida State University in 2002.

Dr. Jean treats a wide range of health concerns, including but not limited to emotional and physical pain, trauma, digestive issues, fertility, women’s health, anxiety, mood and stress-related conditions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University, then completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I trained in full-spectrum family medicine and became a dual board-certified Family Practice physician. Throughout my career in medicine, I was continually reminded of the power that lies in the natural world, in our choices, and in our connections. The approach of lifestyle as medicine resonated with me – nutrition, movement, restoration, mindfulness – these are the ‘prescriptions’ we need. I studied the science and evidence through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, becoming board certified in 2025.
